Several Panthers Earn SAA All-Conference Awards

As the basketball season comes to an end, the end of the year awards begin to come in for the Panthers!  senior forward Zac Richards and sophomore guard Larry Thomas were named  SAA 1st Team All-Conference (BSC was the only team with two on the 1st Team) as well as SAA All-Tournament Team! Senior guard Blaise White was named Defensive Player of the Year as well as Honorable Mention All-SAA along with senior guard Kevin Kegerise. To see the entire SAA Post Season Release, click HERE!

Larry Thomas Named SAA Player of the Week!!

Congratulations to sophomore guard Larry Thomas being named the SAA Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season! This is his third time to receive this honor this year!To read more about click HERE!

Zac Richards Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

We wanted to congratulate Sr F Zac Richards for being named to the 2012-13 CoSIDA Men's Basketball Division III All-District Team. Zac has a 3.71 in Mathematics/Pre-Engineering! This is the the second time that Zac has been named to this prestigious team and it is from this list that the Division III Academic All-Americans are chosen in the upcoming weeks! White Named SAA Player of the Week and Named to D3Hoops Team of the Week!

Congratulations to SR G Blaise White for being named this week's SAA Player of the Week! He is the fourth Panther to receive the honor and it is the 5th total honor that the Panthers have received! To read more about it, click on the following link! White Named Player of the Week.

We had a great weekend on the Hilltop as we hosted the Black Tie Classic! The Panthers were able to get  two nice South Region wins and started the season off on the right foot! The official Division III Preseason Rankings have been released and your Birmingham-Southern Panthers are ranked 12th in the nation! DIII News Has BSC in Preseason Top 25 and Richards Honorable Mention All-American

Last week, DIII News released their 2012-13 Preason Preview and had a lot of great things to say about the Panthers! We were ranked 25th in the country out of over 400 Division III Teams, as well as picked to win the inaugural season in the Southern Athletic Association. They also named Senior Post Player, Zac Richards as an Honorable Mention All- American!

Accolades Continue to Roll in for the Panthers!

Today, D3 Hoops.com released the All Region Honors and the Panthers were well represented! Head Coach Chris Graves was named South Region Head Coach of the Year while junior forward Zac Richards was named Third Team All Region! NCAA Selection Show Is Today!

Today at 11 AM CST, the NCAA will release the Tournament Field. The direct link is not up yet but the page where the link will be is available at NCAA.com and we wanted to make it available for you so here it is.

Panthers Take Home Many Conference Post Season Awards

We had a tough game yesterday but there was some good news that came out. The SCAC released their post season awards and honors and your Birmingham Southern Panthers received the most honors out of any other team in the conference! Head Coach Chris Graves was named the SCAC Coach of the Year as our team went 15-1 in conference and 24-1 overall. Junior guard Blaise White was named Defensive Player of the Year as well as named All-Conference Honorable Mention. Senior guard Jasen Jonus and Junior guard Kevin Kegarise were named Second Team All-Conference while Junior foward Zac Richards was named First Team All-Conference! SCAC Tournament Game Info and Previews

Today we start the SCAC Basketball Tournament here at Birmingham Southern! The Men's team tips at 1PM in Bill Battle Coliseum while the Women tip at 6PM at Homewood  High School.
